Florida 2003

This winter we have decided to spend the month of February in Sebastian, Florida. We had been thinking of doing this for part of the winter when we retire. The first opportunity to do so would have been in 2002 but my medical situation required me to spend January and February and part of March in New Jersey. Even then we got to fly down for a shuttle launch and then after going thru my last treatment we were able to get to Florida for the last part of  March. In November of 2002 one of my friends from High Bridge living in Sebastian located a place available for the month of February and we were off.  We left NJ on January 30 with the temperature at around 20. The Friday before that in the AM it was 7 degrees. Cool weather followed us all the way down to Jacksonville with temperatures in the 30's all the way thru the Carolinas and finally hitting the 50's when we got below Savannah. On February 1 when we got up in Jacksonville it was around 60 and sunny. When we arrived in Sebastian at 12:00 noon it was 74. We had arrived in Paradise. The journal will be mostly pictures. I plan to do a lot of fishing and mom will shop and visit with her friends. We will also make a side trip to Sarasota and Key West during this trip.

Meanwhile back in Maryland
